Tuesday was an unusual day for Mother Nature.
On the east coast there was an earthquake.
We have them often in Alaska
but I don't remember one on the east coast.
This picture is 4th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska
after the 1964 earthquake.
The side of the JC Penney building
just fell off.
If you want to see some amazing pictures,
google the quake and what happened afterwards.
In Washington, DC there was minor damage reported
and school was cancelled the next day
because the buildings had to be checked.
Most of the older buildings aren't built to code
Two of our boys are on the far coast.
The Barrister Son was closest to the center.
He was outside in Virginia and didn't feel anything.
His wife is a teacher and her school was evacuated as a precaution.
The Flyer Son was in a building in New York
where he felt the table shake.
In the Nome area our unusual moments were visual..
we had rainbow after rainbow all evening.
Some were double,
most had the complete color spectrum,
all were colorful to see!
I was lucky to catch quite a few....
A double in town
Over the Nome River
Our bike shed and south yard.
Somewhere over the rainbow.....
