An Autumn Walk to the River~

Before we ever decided what we were going to do at Dexter,
we built a trail to the river and created beds for plants.

The curving path begins with steps from
recycled pieces of the old elementary playground.

Many happy hours have been spent around this path..

It goes down, and around

then back up..

through a tunnel in the willows
which can be a bit drippy on rainy days..

take a sharp left,

go down the steps

and you are there.

At the river.

Some day,
maybe later than sooner,
there will be a sudden hush.

And we will know it is winter because the water isn't flowing,
except under the ice.

We can only guess when that freeze will be.....
