This summer we have had more
small, off-shore dredges than ever on Norton Sound.
As the price of gold went up,
so did their numbers!
Most of the miners are here for the summer,
often camping out where ever they can.
They use the Rec Center Miner's shower to warm up
and wash their clothes
at the Suds and Soap on Front Street.
When the snow and ice began, most of them left.
But on Halloween there was one lone, determined pair
looking for treats on the ocean's floor.....
