The snow is melting more each day.
In the warm afternoon and evening sun
it seeps out from the edges creating random icicles along the bank
where the road was cut through the drifts.
Although we haven't been above +20'F all week
it is still melting.
By evening there is water over the ice on the river,
puddles filled up,
and the ground softened where we walk.
Overnight, it all refreezes.
The morning walk is crunchy over the grass and
every day there has been a new supply of puddle ice to break.
(That is a good luck thing in Oregon, ya know)
Little, by little,
winter is dripping away.....
