Scents of Time~

In a land covered in ice and snow
nothing grows,
or rots..
The smells associated with both are absent during the winter months.
The funny thing is I never really noticed that until we moved to the country!

So when we hit the tarmac in the Lower '48,
our senses are assaulted with lovely scents to identify.

Blooming flowers~

Fresh cut grass~

And a peppery sample that transports me back to high school~
and Oregon.
It may not be sweet to some,
but I would be willing to bet that the pulp mill scent is imprinted
on the memories of many.....
