Thanksgiving Spelled Down~

We woke up to a crisp, clear morning on Thanksgiving Day.
It began at -7, but warmed to zero ;-)

The Pilot Man is the main turkey cooker at our house.
He put it on the grill after we finished our morning coffee
and even at those temperatures,
it finished in plenty of time!

This was the first year that NoNe of the boys were home..
(sniff, sniff, tissue please)
It was bound to happen at some point, and this was the year.
After last year, it was quite a change!

So we set up a conference call to chat.
They all had their own plans with their wives...
While some included our family's Thanksgiving traditions,
the Flyer Son included all of the food groups!

The Nursing Daughter was home and created a chocolate yummy.

Our friends and neighbors came over.
A tradition when we are home.
She is a great cook and we divide up the fixings.

In our house we cook up the~

and much fewer potatoes without the boys at home

I tried a new recipe for a Pumpkin Cream Cheese bread

and we played old games,
and ate too much pie.

I hope your Thanksgiving was a day that filled you with a

Thankful Heart.....

  1. Fun post, Sharon! The heat from the grill sure makes it look cold there!☺ Two granddaughters were absent from our Thanksgiving this year! Thankful they are good at calling!

  2. I love how you did this post. Nice that you were able to conference call the boys but I know they were still missed very much at the table.

It is so nice to hear from you!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a note!
I will respond to you directly by email,
